John’s life began December 28, 1957, in St. Joseph, Michigan. He was a lifetime area resident. John worked as a machinist at Quality Mold & Engineering for 14 years and proudly never missed a day of work unless he was on vacation. He loved the outdoors, John and his wife Tina would start their day before sunrise having coffee watching the geese and birds then end their day enjoying the light show they displayed on their house. He also enjoyed a quiet night inside watching Dr. Pole on TV. John was a goose hunter and enjoyed taking his boys hunting. His children and grandchildren were his world and John looked forward to the yearly trips either hunting or to Surfari Joes Waterpark with the grandchildren.
John leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory which includes: his wife of 15 years Tina (Little) Archie; two sons Travis (Amber Lynn) Archie of Kentucky and Aaron (Kerri) Archie of Paw Paw; a step-daughter Talissa (Russell) Toon; eight grandchildren Gabe, Trevor, Renee Samuel, Josie, Dennis, Danica, and Leona; two step-grandchildren Alissa and Dalton; a brother Virgil (Gail) Archie; many nieces and nephews; and his co-workers who were like family.
John died unexpectedly Sunday, July 5. His parents Samuel and Sarah Archie, three sisters, and two brothers precede John in death. Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet is assisting John’s family with cremation and his family will celebrate his life with a private service.
