Joe was born on Jan. 9, 1945, to Fred and Florence Williams.
He was one of 16 children. Joe made his living building houses and he was a pastor. Joe never met a stranger and if you talked to him very long he would pray for you and ask you if you knew Jesus as your Savior. He never ran out of words.
Joe is survived by three children: Joseph Williams Jr., David (Chrissy) Williams, and Frances (Michael) Kelly all of Watervliet; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Sam (Pat) Williams; four sisters: Francis Davis, June Hutchison Joseph, Rosie Hoffenkamp, and Marie (Robert) Wade; and many nieces and nephews.
Joe died on Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, at Spectrum Health Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Esther Caldwell and Jeannie Ann Williams, and seven brothers: Fred, David, James, John, Danny, Tim, and Artie.
Friends may visit with Joe’s family from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Funeral services will be celebrated at noon, on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Hutchins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Watervliet.
