Orville Paul Teter Jr

Orville’s life began September 19, 1939 in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He was a lifetime area resident and loved living in Southwest Michigan. He worked for many years as a painter for several businesses including General Building Maintenance, Cook Nuclear Plant, and Wolfe & Sons. Outside of work you could find Orville tinkering on cars, drag racing, or doing yard work. His greatest love was spending time with his family, he especially looked forward to the family reunions.

Orville leaves behind a large loving family to cherish his memory including: two children Cynthia (Stephen) Carmer and Orville (Tammy) Teter; five grandchildren Dustin (Laura) Teter, Chadwick (Jillian) Teter, Colton Carmer, Seth Carmer, and Dakota Carmer; three great grandchildren Elizabeth Teter, Jordynn Teter, and Scotlynn Teter; his companion Sue Hall; four sisters Irene Mezinger, Joyce Weber, Jeri Hayden, and Shirley Certa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Orville died Thursday, March 3, 2022, at home surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his wife Margy (Granke) Teter, his parents Orville and Verna (Carlock) Teter, and four siblings Dale, Nola, Jack and Paul. Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet is assisting Orville’s family with cremation. A graveside service will be celebrated Friday, March 11, 2022, at 2:00 PM at North Shore Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made in Orville’s memory to Caring Circle Hospice. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Orville’s family.
