Ronald (Ron) Victor Vance was born September 3, 1957, in Lansing, Michigan. He later moved to Southwest Michigan, and graduated from Bangor High School. Ron’s passion was agriculture and Animals. He worked for several local farms, and later retired as a Farm Manager. He met and married the love of his life, Shirley Petty, and together they happily resided in Lawrence, where Ron And Shirley enjoyed time with their Grandkids, traveling, fishing, riding on his Harley along with family and friends, and racing His #34 car at Hartford, Plymouth, and Lansing Speedways. Above everything his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Ron leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife of 20 years Shirley Vance; five children, Rachel (John) Hamilton, Veronica Vance, Jeffrey Painter, Angela (Mark) Persons, and Melanie (Anthony) Cusentino; nine grandchildren; Mason and John Hamilton 111, Chelsie and Ethan Light and Jesse Lemon 11, Jacob and Kaylee Painter, Nick and Jessica Lipp; three siblings Eva (Joe) Hay, Richard (Cathy) Vance, and Elaine Cupp; and several nieces and nephews.
Ron died unexpectedly Thursday, July 2, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. His Father Jon Vance, Mother Eleanor Westphal, and Grandson Sean Hamilton precede Ron in death. Wednesday, July 8 at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet, will be an open visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM and a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Fairview Cemetery in Watervliet.
