Steve’s life began March 26, 1964, in Watervliet, Michigan. He spent his lifetime in Watervliet where he graduated high school in 1982. While in high school he played sports and got to be part of the 1979 football team that made it to the Silverdome. Steve gave back to Watervliet Schools through coaching wrestling for 14 years. While leading the Panther Wrestling program he had numerous individual state qualifiers and placers. In 2009 his team won the regional, unfortunately fell just short at the state meet. In 2012 Steve coached one of his wrestlers to a state title and capped off that huge accomplishment by being named Coach of the Year. Even after hanging up his wrestling shoes you could find him helping at camps, giving the new coaches pointers, supporting from the stands, or still keeping the stopwatch in the corner for drills. Outside of the wrestling room Steve loved the Lord and was a very active member of Midway Baptist Church. He gave back to the church through serving as a deacon and acting as assistant treasurer. Steve’s love for giving back to others showed through the three mission trips he went on to help build hospitals and dorms, he attended two in Togo West Africa and one to Belize. When Steve wasn’t helping people through serving the Lord or teaching a wrestler the newest move you could find him enjoying his motorcycle or being frustrated with the Detroit Lions. He was also easily found running Eisen Farms. Born and raised into the family business, as the third generation, Steve always knew farming blueberries was what God had meant him to do. It was his true passion.
Above everything Steve loved his family which includes: his high school sweetheart and wife DeAnna (Higginbottom) who he enjoyed 37 years of marriage; two children Benjamin (Katelyn) Eisen and Emily (Ryan) Murphy; three grandchildren Avery Eisen, Emmett Eisen, and Henry Murphy; his mom Mindy Eisen; his brother Tom (Wendi) Eisen; a sister-in-law Lori (Shang) Coleman; his mother-in-law Karen (Jerry) Rosenbaum; three nieces Allison Eisen, Amy Eisen, and Caitlin (John) Sperry; and a nephew Dustin (Emily) Williams.
