Vicky (Roung) Forrester

Heaven gained another angel when Vicky Lee Forrester (Roung) lost her life on February 2nd.

Vicky was the second of two daughters born to Walter and Katherine Roung on April 7, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois. Her family lived in Illinois and spent the summers in Michigan until her parents decided to move to Michigan permanently when Vicky was in seventh grade. Vicky, along with her sister, went to Coloma Community Schools and would graduate from there in 1972.

Vicky later met and married her husband, Greg Forrester, on March 10th, 1981, where together they had two daughters. They raised their loving family in Watervliet where Vicky was always a big part of their daughter’s lives, making sure she made it to all their sporting and school events, volunteering whenever needed from baked goods to rides to helping with crafty school projects. In addition to a very loving mother, Vicky also worked for the state, as the Director’s Secretary at the Department of Human Services until her retirement in 2010 after thirty-two years.

Vicky enjoyed retirement and enjoyed spending her time with her family, being the happiest when she was with her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them, adored them and loved being a big part of all their lives. You could always find Vicky picking her grandchildren up from school, attending school and sporting events, volunteering at the schools or just trying to spend quality time with them whenever possible. When not with her grandchildren, or spending time with her family you could find Vicky enjoying retirement in other ways; sleeping in, gardening, decorating, scrapbooking, or making beautiful cards for all occasions.

Vicky leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory which includes: her daughters; Nicole Forrester and Megan Forrester, four grandchildren; Rylee, Amiyah, Liam and Legacy. Her father; Walter Roung. Brother In-law; Larry McNew, Nieces and Nephews; Brandy Zoschke, Courtney Smalley, Tyler McNew, Mikki Gerlak, Jason Forrester, and Emilie Forrester; and many great nieces and nephews.

Vicky was preceded in death by her husband; Greg Forrester, Mother; Katherine (Venerable) Roung, and sister; Kathy McNew.
